Unlike my ancient predecessor, this Tullius hasn't had his hands chopped off. With hands attached I offer my thoughts on philosophy, religion, politics, and whatever else I find worth mentioning. I'm conservative religiously and politically (with libertarian leanings). I value reason and freedom but also traditions and "Oldthink." My 7-yr-old son (Samuel) was teasing my 5-yr-old son (Jonathan) about someone being Jonathan's "girlfriend."

A Drawback of Finitude
My tenderhearted (& future existentialist?) five-year-old son has been crying at night for the last week or two. When I have finally gotten him to tell me why he says:
"Today is over and it will never happen again."
He reminds me of one of the best reasons to think that God is timeless.

Birthday Hooker
Johno (now five-year-old) had his B-day this week. The little guy was even happy about the clothes he got for his bear.
"It even has its own hooker!!"

Observations on Detangler Spray
Johno [4 yr. old] seeing detangling spray:
Johno: What is that stuff??
Malea [11 yr. old]: It's detangling spray.
Johno: What does it do? Does it make your hair smell nice or what?
Malea: When you spray it on your hair and brush it, you won't have the tangle anymore.
Johno: What is on there? [That is, what is the picture on the apple-scented bottle?]
Malea: I think it's an Apple-To-Pus.
Johno: Why is it there?
Malea: I don't know.
Johno: Maybe it's there because it has a tangle.
