Trans Man Gives Birth to Own Baby

Curiouser and curiouser!” Cried Alice (she was so much surprised, that for the moment she quite forgot how to speak good English).”

School: Don't Say "Boys" or "Girls"

"WSOC-TV is reporting a North Carolina school system presentation to principals and counselors is recommending that kids are not referred to as boys and girls, but instead as scholars and students."

Items of particular interest (I'm leaving out a lot):
Page 9: Gender Unicorn
Page 38: Official school records record the student's biological sex but administrators and teachers must use identity pronouns, though occasional slips might occur.  Intentional refusal not to refer to the students identified gender is a violation of the regulation.
Page 48: Don't address students as "boys" and "girls."  Don't line up students [e.g. bathroom breaks] by boys and girls.  Instead alphabetize or by birth month or favorite color.
Page 50: Remember the importance of indoctrinating helping all students to pretend that a student is what he/she/ze feels "feel inclusive"
Page 54: ...unless it's an athletic event in which case the student is not treated according to the gender on the birth certificate [!]

Trans Movement Trumps Feminism?

Excerpt:
There are several corollary take-aways to the present moment. First, we have learned that the trans movement trumps feminism, just as Europe’s reaction to the mass Muslim sexual assaults this New Year’s Eve revealed that multiculturalism trumps feminism. Given the constant caterwauling about “rape culture” by campus feminists, one would have thought that feminists would have opposed males’ use of facilities frequented by unclothed or otherwise vulnerable females. But apparently the claim that college campuses are awash in serial rapists waxes and wanes in salience depending on context. It now becomes merely another sign of redneck bigotry to suggest that a heterosexual male (i.e., a rapist in waiting) or a sexual pervert may take advantage of the new trans rules. Wellesley and Smith colleges have twisted themselves into knots deciding whether the “trans” category trumps the favored status of females. They concluded that being trans cancels the disability of being male and in fact elevates the trans “female” to the highest rank on the victim totem pole.
Whether the trans movement actually trumps feminism of course depends on how "feminism" is defined.

Zis is What the World is Coming To

Read about it zhere.

Oh, and by ze way, zis is one of ze reasons college costs zo much.  We're paying people like zis.

The Left, Sexual Norms, and the Military

Don't be fooled.  The goal of the left is not to make our military stronger--as if it were not the best and most powerful in the world already (if anything, the left would like to see it taken down a peg or fifty).  The goal is to push forward the opposite of all traditional values, plain and simple.  It is to flip on its face every traditional norm.  This is particularly the case when it comes to sexuality and gender, the summos bonos in the progressive movement.

Sexual and gender autonomy drive almost everything.

Obama's DOJ: Boys Must Use Girls' Potty

The Department of [In]Justice has now weighed in on the ever important issue of bathroom sex: transgenders must be allowed to use the one with which they identify.  Failure to do so violates sex [gender?] discrimination under Title IX.  (Ah, good old Title IX to the rescue.)

Remember not too long ago, sometime after Bowers v. Hardwick (1986) but probably before Lawerence v. Texas (2003), when it was common to say that government--especially the federal government--had no business being in your bedroom?  My how far we've come.  Government out of the bedroom and into the toilet.  Change you can believe in.

What else has the administration has been up to?  Negotiations have stalled with Iran as (surprise, surprise) Iran refuses to have nuclear weapons inspections.  See also the Iran deal's fatal flaw.

When My Father Told Me He Wanted to Be a Woman

Denise Shick:

What was your biggest concern when you were nine years old? Was it trying to memorize your multiplication tables? Was it that the school cafeteria might serve your least favorite vegetable at lunch? Perhaps it was something more serious; perhaps your parents were talking of getting divorced. My biggest concern at age nine was how to keep my daddy’s secret, the one he revealed to me as we sat alone on a hill near our home. In a sense, I lost my dad that day, when he told me he wanted to become a woman.

As I tried to process that revelation, he blindsided me with another. He told me he never wanted to have children. To him, my siblings and I were mistakes, because we did not align with his desires.
His confessions left me confused and hurt. After all, I just wanted a dad who would love and cherish me, who would make me feel special as a daughter. I felt rejected and abandoned by my own father.
By the time I was eleven, my dad had begun to abuse me emotionally and sexually. Even so, I continued to keep my dad’s secret locked away, deep down in my heart.

My dad created a home environment that made me feel as if I was walking on pins and needles. His resentment over my possession of what he so deeply desired for himself—a woman’s body—turned into anger and abuse. As his desires intensified, he began to borrow my clothing. Many times I discovered my underclothes and tops under bathroom towels, or in the attic—often in places I had not been. I learned to organize my clothes just so, in order to know if he had been in my dresser drawers. When I confirmed that he’d worn an article of my clothing, I simply could not bring myself to ever wear that item again.

As an adolescent, I had to be careful about how I dressed. I always had to ask myself how he would react to my outfit. Would it make him so envious that he’d “borrow” it (without my consent, of course)? I began to hate my body. It was a constant reminder of what my father wanted to become. When I began to wear makeup, I had to block out the images I had of him applying makeup or eye shadow or lipstick. He was destroying my desire to become a woman.

Here is the rest.

Girls Who Are Boys Who Like Boys to Be Girls

The previous post brought to mind the following song from my generation.  One of the main ideas in the song is that what truly matters is being (and doing) what (or who) you love--period.

I love good satire, so I choose to think of this song as satirical.  [Warning: Don't watch in front of kids or your grandma]

Boys and Girls, by Blur
Street's like a jungle
So call the police
Following the herd
Down to Greece
On holiday
Love in the 90's
Is paranoid
On sunny beaches
Take your chances looking for

[Chorus]
Girls who are boys
Who like boys to be girls
Who do boys like they're girls
Who do girls like they're boys
Always should be someone you really love

Transgender "Men" in a Women's College

This story is NOT from the Onion! It is a true story.  Wellesley College is a well-known elite(ist) college.  (Didn't Hillary Clinton go there?)  So what happens when a woman enters the school but then later identifies as a man?  And what happens when "Timothy" runs for the office of "multicultural affairs coordinator" against several other women "of color"?  Excerpt:

A Reader's Question about Transgender "News"

In response to the previous post Janet Mackiewrites:

I think the reason that Patriarchies world wide oppose gender equality (or what ever they would term "it") is because they need to preserve a  bifurcated world world of distinct opposites in which they define  themselves as the most valuable and therefor the most entitled to power, prestige and preservation.
A world of winners and losers, correct and incorrect, in which they "define" themselves as perfect and the "losers" are defined as throw aways to be taken advantage of by the winners.
If the world is seen as made up multiple continuum, if all humans all DNA are of value equally, then it can't be saint v sinner, male v female, winner v loser, correct v reject etc. can it?

More Transgender "News"

I just happened upon this news propaganda about one of those nasty, intolerant schools that will not recognize the transgender status of a student (you know, the kind of school that the tolerant crowd will sue).  The author takes the student's side from the very beginning, referring to Brian--who has had no reassignment surgeries--as "Rachel" and using female pronouns throughout the article even though BRIAN is a MALE.  The report ends on a "cheery note" with "Rachel" hoping that this story can help at least one person.  I wonder if the USA Today writer wrote the article hoping to change at least one person's mind on the issue?  Hmmmm... I wonder.

I'm Already on the Wrong Side of History Regarding Transgender Surgeries

It looks like this issue is passing me by!  Yesterday it was reported that Oregon will become the 3rd state (in addition to Eleonore Holmes Norton's district) to pay for sexual reassignment surgeries.  And--taking time off from golf--Obama removed the 33 year Medicare ban on the surgeries two months ago.  No doubt soon it will be made a national issue where the alleged right to such surgeries is propagated while the duty to tax for them is not (or the tactic will be to note that the cost will be miniscule...as almost all costs are relative to the bigger government pie).

One wonders, though, whether government funded reassignment-reassignment surgeries (like the case of this guy) will also be in the conversation.  (I think I know the answer to that one).

Other questions remain:  How old should one be to have the surgery? 3? 8? 11? 18?  If a child has, say, cancer, you take care of the problem right away!  If gender dysphoria is a medical condition treatable by surgery (rather than psychiatry and ministry) it should be able to be diagnosed--and the earlier the better one would think.

Another question: what if you were a female living inside the body of a male serial killer and you later had surgery to be a female? Should Donna take the rap for Doug who no longer exists?

On the Question: "How Does This Affect You?"

The previous post addressed one of the following questions by @TwainIAint (aka Casey the Communist):
And how, exactly, does this affect you? Slippery slope much, Herr Philosopher?
I now will address the first question: How exactly does this affect you?  And I will begin by addressing what I think about "How does this affect you?" questions more generally when asked in a moral context.

Slippery Slopes and Transgender Propoganda: A Response to a Question

@TwainIAint, who on this blog is known as Casey the Communist Usurper, tweets the following in response to my most recent post:

And how, exactly, does this affect you? Slippery slope much, Herr Philosopher?

There are two questions here which Casey is asking.  I shall begin by responding to the second question regarding the slippery slope and in a separate post will address the first question.

Transgender Parents Speak Out About What Makes a Family

The press is on!  Unless there's a dramatic change in the way things are going, it will not be too long before there is a mainstream media push for government funded surgeries.  After all, it isn't fair to the poor that they can't change their bodies into whomever and whatever they want. (I do wonder, if there's a divorce, which one will get screwed out of custody: the one who now has the male parts or the one who used to?)

A few selections:
Bianca, 32, was born a boy named Jason, while her husband, Nick Bowser, 27, was born a girl named Nicole. They met and fell in love in 2009, before Nick’s gender transition, in Atlanta. (A person's sexual orientation is distinct from a person's gender identity or expression.) Eventually, they decided to start a family, and Nick, still physically female (though he would eventually undergo breast-removal surgery), decided to carry Bianca’s babies — something he described to the Mirror as being “an absolutely horrible experience for me” because he already identifed as male.

Got it??  So according to this report "he"--a man--carried a baby!  Is this the first case of this happening?? This IS a news story!
Still, Bianca said, they will explain the situation sooner rather than later, and they’re confident that their kids will be OK upon learning the truth. “If they don’t know anything different, and it isn’t presented as something negative, then there’s no downside,” she said.
That’s the right idea, according to parenting expert [COUGH, COUGH], author, and clinical psychologist Laura Markham.
Gender aside, the story of the Bowser family is fairly typical. Both parents struggle to balance child-rearing with work — Nick is a bar manager and Bianca is a popular Louisville drag performer known as Bianca Nicole — and with social time, much of it with childless friends who also work in nightlife.
Ah, yes, the typical story of the Kentucky family whose male wife is a mother by day and drag queen by night.  I know that story well. I think we have a children's book with that same (old) story.
