Last night I watched "The Conjuring." I was surprised by (1) how terrifying it was and (2) how true it stayed--for Hollywood--to a basically Christian message when it easily could have diverged. In fact, there was some (a little) good theology. But it's a horror movie. SCARY. Be afraid. Be VERY afraid.
Tomorrow I have to figure out what to say to 200 or so high school students in Camden, AR. I'm to give them some soul-searching atheist arguments. That I can do. Giving them some soul-saving arguments in the short time allotted thereafter will be the trick.
Now I have to wrestle two boys pulling at my sleeves. Pretty sure I'm going to win if endurance is not a factor.
Here's an update...you're STUPID if you don't think The Ring is a scary movie. STUPID. And DUMB. And...stupid.
ReplyDeleteIt's true. I'm not scared of a LITTLE GIRL. I'll will make two exceptions, however: Carrie and if Rosemary ever has a baby girl.
